In April, the AKM Group-CZ team inspected a new batch of AK-40 MGL drum grenade launchers. After visiting our partners’ production facilities in Turkey, our specialists conducted a series of tests and technological quality control of the products. In particular, they checked the operation of the drum rotation mechanism, the feed mechanism, the cocking of the firing mechanism and the trigger mechanism, and more. We can confidently say that this is a high-quality, reliable batch of hand-held grenade launchers.
The AK-40 MGL has long established itself as a reliable means of fire support. These modern multi-shot grenade launchers are in service with the Turkish army. They have proven reliability in real combat conditions. It is important to note that this grenade launcher has been included in the NATO Supply System catalogue and has been assigned NSN (NATO STOCK NUMBER) 1010-27-072-8406, which indicates its integration into the unified NATO accounting and logistics system. Currently, the AK-40 MGL is in the process of being accepted into service by NATO countries.
The grenade launcher has a mechanical aiming system, and the sight is adjustable within a range of 400-600 m. The design includes a six-round rotating drum. The barrel is made of medium-carbon alloy, coated with hard chrome, and has a smooth profile with a rifled section (6 right-hand grooves) for firing 40 mm grenades. Equipped with a double-action trigger, a double-sided safety catch, and an angled stock. It has a Picatinny rail system for attaching additional equipment.
Supports various types of ammunition, including 40×46 mm low-velocity and 40/51 mm medium-velocity less than 140 mm.
The initial muzzle velocity, depending on the ammunition, ranges from 75 m/s to 100 m/s, allowing it to effectively engage manpower, light equipment and fortified enemy positions at medium ranges. The grenade launchers are lightweight (5.5 kg) and very compact, making them convenient for use in various combat conditions.
The barrel life is up to 5,000 rounds.
The effective firing range is over 400 m.
The firing accuracy is 10 m in diameter at a distance of 200 m.
After selection of samples at the production facility, a batch of AK-40 MGL 2024 manufactured by the company was delivered to the warehouses of AKM Group-CZ.
Our team is already preparing to conclude contracts and transfer the AK-40 MGL grenade launchers to our End Users for operation.
