AKM Group-CZ representatives at Defexpo India 2012: key highlights of Asia’s largest defence exhibition

From March 29 to April 1, New Delhi hosted Defexpo India 2012, an international exhibition of defence products. This is the seventh edition of the biennial land, naval and homeland security exhibition held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

This time the event attracted more than 400 companies from 30 countries. Our representatives visited the exhibition to explore new technologies, analyse trends in the global defence market, and network with partners.

Among the key aspects of the exhibition: Innovative armoured vehicles – an interesting concept of a light infantry fighting vehicle with an integrated active protection system was presented.

Unmanned Systems Technology: Indian companies have presented interesting developments in this direction. For example, the Rustom-1 drone, capable of flying for up to 12 hours at an altitude of 7,000 metres.

Army aviation: HAL presented a modernised version of a light attack helicopter.

Among the trends of Defexpo India 2012 we can note the increasing interest in the development of autonomous systems.

Visiting the exhibition was an important event for the company. Business ties with our partners were strengthened and successful negotiations were held with new market players and with leading manufacturers of the defence market. As a result of these meetings, a series of joint projects and new contracts are already being planned.
