From 25-27 September, the third edition of the international exhibition in the field of protection and defence ADEX 2018 took place in Baku. The exhibition was attended by 224 companies from 29 countries.
There were 11 stands from Azerbaijan, China, Israel, Iran, Israel, Iran, Serbia, Turkey and a number of other countries. The organisers of the event note that this year they managed to scale the exhibition by at least 10 per cent compared to the previous ones, which indicates the growing interest of the global community in this exhibition platform.
As part of ADEX 2018, the participants’ stands presented developments in such areas as air and missile defence, military shipbuilding, weapon systems, military research, UAV systems, small arms, ammunition, rocket and artillery equipment and armament, MLRS, optoelectronic and laser technologies, armoured vehicles, submarines, C4ISR systems, and others. In addition, the Service Centre for maintenance and repair of armoured vehicles was presented for the first time.
Among the highlights of the exhibition are: ATMOS M-46 130mm howitzer and SPEAR mortar mounted on BTR-70 armoured personnel carrier, developed by Israeli company Elbit Systems; Yasir UAV and Bina tactical UAV by Iranian company Qods Aviation Industries; and local Tufan 4×4 MRAP vehicle developed by the Ministry of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan (MODIAR), among others.
For our company, the presence at ADEX 2018 was an excellent opportunity not only to study the novelties in the defence industry of Azerbaijan and the participating countries, but also to conduct a series of successful business negotiations, which became a good basis for future contracts, the signing of which is planned in the near future.
