From 22 to 27 July 2025, one of the largest and most influential global defence events –
the 17th International Defence Industry Exhibition “IDEF‑2025” – took place at the Istanbul Expo Center. The event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Türkiye and the Presidency of Defence Industries, with the participation of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation.
Each year, IDEF gathers thousands of specialists from more than 50 countries, showcasing the latest advances in the fields of electronic warfare (EW), unmanned systems, armoured vehicles, medical solutions, anti‑tank systems, engineering equipment, and demining technologies. – Turkish companies showcased new EW systems, modern air‑defence systems, and high‑precision missile technologies. Updated versions of strike UAVs and upgraded helicopters for combat operations were presented;
– South Korean manufacturers introduced a new generation of armoured vehicles and robotic platforms for supporting special‑operations units;
– Israeli companies focused on strike and reconnaissance UAVs, advanced sensors, and intelligence systems;
– European defence producers demonstrated next‑generation anti‑tank missile systems, armoured‑vehicle protection systems and integrated solutions for engineering units.
The scale of the exhibition reaffirmed global defence‑sector trends: increasing autonomy, network‑centric integration and the rising importance of EW and counter‑drone technologies.
