From June 16 to 20, 2014, Paris hosted the Eurosatory 2014 international exhibition, the largest event in the field of protection and defense. The event gathered more than 1,500 exhibitors from 58 countries and attracted more than 55,000 professional visitors, including defense industry representatives, armed forces delegations and experts.
AKM Group-CZ always follows the trends in the defense sector and could not ignore this significant event in the industry. Looking ahead, we are happy to note that this participation resulted in the expansion of business relations for us. Potential projects were discussed with partners and several long-term contracts have already been outlined and planned.
This year, Eurosatory 2014 delighted guests with many innovations. Of particular interest to our team were samples of various types of ammunition, reflecting the growing role of precision weapons and integrated weapon systems.
Rheinmetall presented new models of guided projectiles for artillery systems. And the widespread use of GPS navigation and laser guidance was one of the key trends, emphasizing the transition to smart munitions. Manufacturers also presented new types of armor-piercing and multipurpose ammunition for tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. Particular attention was paid to reduced ricochet rounds and innovative types of projectiles for grenade launchers.
