From 1 to 4 September, the international community in the defence industry gathered in the Polish city of Kielce. According to the organisers this year’s MSPO was held with a record scale: more than 500 exhibits were presented on 25 thousand square metres. Companies from 27 countries were present, including Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Estonia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States and the United Kingdom.
As expected, many previously announced novelties were presented. The developers paid much attention to various night vision devices, thermal imagers, binoculars. So, for example, PCO S.A. company developed a prototype of a device based on bolometric detector with a resolution of 640×480 pixels. The device used a new control and signal analysis system for the detector, as well as new image processing and control systems, the latter with an ergonomic keyboard.
A good co-operation between Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and the Polish company ROSOMAK S.A. was the AMPV multi-purpose vehicle. ROSY (Rapid Obscuring System For Land Vehicles) is one of the systems offered for the AMPV. This system allows to cover the vehicle from infrared devices in the near, middle and far spectrum, in the visual spectrum with a wavelength from 400 to 1000 nm and in the spectrum of laser radiation with a wavelength from 550 to 1500 nm.
The upgraded version of the 7.62×51mm UKM-2000P single machine gun from Polish company Zaklady Mechaniczne Tarnow is also worth mentioning.
‘Although our company this year has been working on supplying products for the aviation industry, it is important for us not to lose sight of current trends in other areas of the defence industry. In addition, such exhibitions are a good platform for discussing and planning new contracts and memoranda. MSPO-2015 turned out to be very favourable for this, and at the end of the exhibition we are planning several good contracts for the near future,’ said the representative of AKM Group-CZ.
